Using POP mail

Use this preference to set up the email service so that it can read all of your emails from other email accounts.

POP3 stands for Post Office Protocol level/version 3 protocol.

A server that supports POP (for example, a computer with a permanent Internet connection, such as an Internet Service Provider (ISP), or your work's server) is like a Post Office that doesn't have a delivery service. It holds your email for you in a mailbox. You use another email system that supports POP to download your emails and read them.
