Troubleshooting voicemail problems

I can't see the Record, Stop and Play buttons when I try to compose a voicemail
I can't hear anything when I press Record to record a voicemail
I can't hear my recorded voicemail when I click Play
The grey bar doesn't change colors when I speak

I can't see the Record, Stop and Play buttons when I try to compose a voicemail

Are you using Netscape Communicator as your Internet browser? Netscape Communicator does not support eKit's voicemail recorder. To compose and send voicemails you must use Internet Explorer version 4.0 or later.

I can't hear anything when I press Record to record a voicemail

Check that your microphone or headset is plugged in correctly.

I can't hear my recorded voicemail when I click Play

Check that the computer speakers are turned on.
Check that their volume is turned up.
Check if the computer volume is set to mute. If mute is set, turn it off.
You may have spoken too softly. Make sure you speak loudly and clearly into your microphone.
You may not have pressed Record before saying your voicemail.

Can I record a draft voicemail and send it later?

No, you cannot. You must send a voicemail immediately after you record it.
